Founded in 2010
The WIB-Chicago community is committed to creating opportunities and careers for women in the life science industry and to encouraging women in our state to translate novel discoveries into products. As the first chapter established in the Midwest, we are especially thrilled to expand the WIB organization and bring its resources to our region. We offer programs in the greater Chicagoland area, including virtual events and support for women living and working nearby. We support women and non-binary individuals at all stages of their careers, and we welcome allyship and participation from men. Our leadership opportunities are second to none. Programming topics cover a vast range of subjects across industry, academia, startups, law, venture capital, pharma, biotech, science communication, professional growth, networking, and others. The 3.8 Initiative, named for the March 8 International Women's Day, seeks to increase startup board leadership for women in Chicago's life science and health tech innovation ecosystem.
