The virtual session on April 29 explored the transformative potential of AI in healthcare and life sciences, highlighting practical tools, ethical considerations, and the future of AI integration. Kamayani Gupta from Kami Think Tank led the session, and she emphasized thoughtful and ethical adoption of AI. Kamayani discussed how AI can aid in drug discovery, clinical trials, patient diagnosis, and administrative automation. Key AI tools discussed included Notebook LM, Open Evidence, and Elicit, with a live demo for Notebook LM showing its applications in research and scientific writing. Attendees were encouraged to experiment with these tools and remain cautious about sharing confidential data on public platforms like ChatGPT. It was an interactive meeting with attendees sharing their experience on adopting AI in their daily work life. The session stressed building trustworthy AI systems based on six key pillars: truthfulness, safety, fairness, robustness, privacy, and ethics. Challenges such as bias, hallucinations, and privacy concerns were also addressed. Participants were invited to join a summer AI learning cohort and use the WIB10 discount for Kami’s Maven course. The session concluded with a call for collaboration, experimentation, and ongoing education.
