MAPS-Seattle: Peer Group Networking Social

June 10, 2025

Women In Bio Seattle MAPS participants had a fantastic time at the first-ever networking happy hour for all peer group members. Over the past few years, the MAPS community has steadily expanded to nearly 150 members across 14 neighborhood groups in King and Snohomish Counties. The goal of the evening was simple: connection—an opportunity to connect with our regular groups while also meeting others from across the MAPS network. Networking was facilitated by color-coded name badges representing your neighborhood group, those actively seeking jobs, and those considering a career change. The night concluded with each neighborhood group working together to compete in a trivia contest about the history of women in science. Kudos to the joint South Lake Union cohorts who won with 8 out of 9 points! A big thank you to our incredible MAPS Committee — Lindsay Klouser, Dani Faivre, Gayle Bennett, Courtney Rutkowski, Xinyue ‘Clover’ Chen, and Courtney Ward, for organizing the first-ever MAPS peer group social event! Thanks to JTM Construction, Jimmy Craig, and Courtney Wise for hosting us at their beautiful venue and creating such a welcoming atmosphere. Here’s to more connection, collaboration, and community!
