On May 28, Shoreline Community College’s quiet dining room buzzed with energy as students from the Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Program connected with local biotech professionals in a speed networking event. Co-hosted by WIB-Seattle and Shoreline Community College, Professor Rachel Rawle, this event allowed students to practice their elevator pitches, build confidence in real-time networking, and learn directly from professionals across the biotech field.
A huge thank you to our amazing panelists who shared their insights, stories, and encouragement: Lauren Mitchell (Flow Cytometry Core Lead, Altius Institute for Biomedical Sciences), Sandhya Manoj (Manufacturing Specialist, Pfizer), Vy Nguyen McDermott (Manufacturing Supervisor, Pfizer), Yulia Ovechkina (Associate Director, Immuno-Oncology, Kineta), Carla Talbaux (Senior Research Associate, Xaira Therapeutics), Duru Tasman, PhD (Student, UW Bioengineering), Jessica Fint (Associate Scientist, Monod Bio). A special shoutout to Rachel Rawle, Diana Ensenat, and the Shoreline team for their commitment to empowering students and partnering with WIB to make this event possible! We’re proud to support the next generation of biotech talent and can’t wait to see where their journeys lead!
