A huge thank you to UW BioEngage for teaming up with WIB-Seattle to co-host the AI in Biotechnology panel! It was such a fantastic opportunity to bring together students, postdocs, and industry professionals for a meaningful conversation on the future of biotech and the growing role of AI. The event was moderated by Duru Tasman, a Bioengineering PhD student at UW Seattle. It featured a powerhouse panel of experts who tackled key topics like how AI is revolutionizing drug discovery by speeding up the identification of new therapeutic compounds, the ethical responsibilities that come with deploying AI in biotech, the impact of automation on jobs, and the importance of recognizing and addressing bias in AI models. We can’t wait to see how these insights continue to spark innovation and collaboration!
