Over twenty women gathered at the Starbucks on Mercer and Westlake for a Women In Bio Walk and Talk event as part of Seattle Tech Week. Although it was a bright and early wake-up, at 7:45 a.m., everyone was ready to start their day with coffee, conversation, sunshine, and exercise.
The group took the scenic route along the water of South Lake Union and headed north. Women formed clusters with others they knew and some they had never met, engaging in lively discussions about their careers, personal interests, and experiences in the life sciences industry. The walk provided a great opportunity for networking, friendship building, and mentorship in a relaxed and informal setting. The route took the group towards the cluster of biotech companies in Eastlake and back, a fitting destination.
This special summer event was a success, not only for the professional connections made but also for the sense of community that was felt throughout. This Walk and Talk truly exemplified the spirit of Women In Bio, fostering connections, leadership, and empowerment among women in the life sciences.
