WIB-Pittsburgh's Executive Women In Bio Committee coordinated a Life Sciences Resource Fair on February 26 to support the development and growth of emerging technologies and early‑stage companies within the Pittsburgh area. Designed in direct response to feedback from EWIB’s Fall 2025 Voices of Impact event—where leaders emphasized the need to consolidate the region’s scattered resources—the Resource Fair aimed to create an accessible platform for innovators. This vision led to a strategic partnership with LifeX and InnovatePGH, two regional organizations with robust programming and support systems for early‑stage life science companies.
The event provided attendees with direct access to trusted service providers, specialized tools, and expert partners who can help de‑risk early technology development and accelerate progress toward scale. The gathering was well attended, featuring numerous vendors who not only showcased their products and service offerings but also took the opportunity to connect with other regional resources and explore potential partnerships that could benefit their clients. The Resource Fair offered a vibrant and productive networking environment. Attendees came seeking practical, actionable resources related to commercialization strategy, operational support, regulatory readiness, funding pathways, and talent development. To meet these needs, vendors were encouraged to share hands‑on tools and guidance that participants could apply immediately, ensuring that conversations remained solution‑oriented rather than promotional.
Highlights of the program included insights shared by Rachel Kopper, Senior Director, Portfolio and Operations, Biohaven Pharmaceuticals, who delivered pragmatic, experience‑driven tips tailored to early‑stage startups, and by Julie Gulick, Co-Founder & CEO, HealthForge Venture Studio, and President and CEO, Bally Design. Overall, the event successfully fostered meaningful engagement within Pittsburgh’s rapidly growing life sciences ecosystem. By creating direct connections with decision‑makers and bringing together organizations committed to supporting innovation both before and after company formation, the Resource Fair helped strengthen the collaborative infrastructure essential for early‑stage success.
