WIB-Pittsburgh

At a recent panel event, WIB-Pittsburgh brought together Jeremy Baronial, founder of Peak Negotiations, and Kayla Bracall, a human resources leader from Thermo Fisher Scientific, for a conversation on navigating career conversations with confidence. They shared helpful strategies for preparing for job offer negotiations, understanding compensation beyond salary, communicating one’s value, and handling challenging conversations throughout a career.

The panel also examined negotiation as a critical leadership skill that extends far beyond salary conversations and highlighted how it can shape how professionals advocate for resources, influence decisions, build partnerships, and advance their careers. While many women bring strong skills and experience to the table, research shows they may negotiate less often or with less confidence due to broader structural, social, and cultural factors. Strengthening negotiation skills can help women approach these conversations with greater confidence, create new opportunities, and make a lasting impact throughout their careers.

Talented moderators of the panel, Dr. Jenn Luke and Dr. Amy Whitsel, both asked excellent questions to guide the conversation and shared from their own lived experiences in different fields and industries. WIB-Pittsburgh is grateful to both speakers and moderators, as well as to Collaborative Real Estate, for their partnership in this event.
