On November 20, industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and academics gathered for a thought-provoking morning panel discussion and networking event focused on navigating the complexities of protecting developing intellectual property (IP). The event explored crucial strategies and considerations in building robust IP portfolios, including public disclosures, patent filings, competitive landscape analysis, and licensing—all with a focus on what matters most to investors and acquirers.

The panel featured an impressive lineup of experts who provided diverse perspectives on intellectual property. Cindy Chepanoske, Director of Technology Licensing at Carnegie Mellon University, highlighted strategies for connecting research innovations with commercialization partners. Dr. Jennifer Chheda of Jones Day shared her extensive experience managing global patent portfolios and navigating patentability and due diligence. Anna Li, CEO/Co-founder of Korion Health, inspired the audience with her entrepreneurial journey, demonstrating the role of strong IP foundations in driving innovation.
