On Thursday, August 17, 2023, Executive Women In Bio (EWIB) Connecticut and EWIB-Metro New York hosted a great day for founders and executives at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)! With nearly 50 registrants, the life sciences-focused program included a fantastic lineup of speakers who discussed the fundraising landscape, start-up and growth banking, and the path to IPO.
With appreciation and acknowledgment to event sponsors NYSE and Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), the event started with NYSE’s Suzanne Brown discussing NYSE’s board-building initiative focused on women. She was joined by Johanna Rodriguez Grossman, PhD, NYSE’s Head of Healthcare & Life Sciences Capital Markets, and Tara Dziedzic, NYSE Head of Listings, US Sectors, who provided an overview of the full spectrum of support NYSE provides to their privately and publicly listed companies. Representing SVB was Tom Gordon, Managing Director, and Pooja Majmudar, Director of Start-up Banking/Early Stage Life Sciences, with an overview of the current financing environment and IPO trends. The program concluded with the always-exciting ringing of the NYSE market closing bell and a cocktail reception with networking.
