YWIB-Capital Region at the 2025 Montgomery Science Fair

It was an absolute honor for Young Women In Bio (YWIB) to partner with Science Montgomery for the 2025 Montgomery County Science Fair as community judges and proud sponsors of the YWIB Award, celebrating excellence in STEM! Sneha Saggurthi and Tamanna Periwal had the privilege of judging this inspiring event, which brought together over 120 brilliant students and 112 innovative projects from middle and high schools across Montgomery County—making it the largest science fair in Maryland!

Held on April 5th at the FDA White Oak campus, the fair showcased creativity, critical thinking, and scientific curiosity, brought to life through models, experiments, and dynamic poster presentations. The celebration continued at AstraZeneca on April 6th with a heartfelt awards ceremony honoring the exceptional work of all participants. YWIB was proud to be one of 19 national organizations evaluating and recognizing the next generation of STEM leaders—particularly young girls making waves in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The YWIB Award reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering STEM education, empowering future life sciences professionals, and championing gender equity in science.
