A heartfelt thank you to the Seattle University Chemistry Club for partnering with Women In Bio Seattle to co-host an engaging Industry Career Panel, giving students valuable insights directly from professionals in biotech, pharma, and clinical research.

With insightful perspectives from our panelists Joshua Odingo (VP of Chemistry, Inipharm Inc.), Heidi Chapman (Program Officer, Accelerator, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation), Victoria Chinnell (Associate Clinical Trial Manager, Omeros Corporation), and Julia Cochran (Senior Scientist, Immunome, Inc.). Carla Talbaux (Senior Research Associate, Xaira Therapeutics) and Jillian Hesse (Undergraduate Student, Seattle University) were moderators.

We covered:

  • The most rewarding aspects of working in industry
  • Navigating career pivots and lessons learned along the way
  • Making informed grad school decisions
  • Developing skills that matter now

One attendee commented, "I’m truly grateful for the chance to learn from such inspiring panelists. Their honest insights gave me a clearer sense of what to expect and how to better prepare for a career in biotech. I really appreciate this opportunity to connect, reflect, and stay motivated as I navigate my next steps!"

Thank you to all who attended and contributed to this inspiring conversation! Events like these are key to building bridges between students and industry professionals and to empowering the next generation of scientists.
