EWIB-Pittsburgh: Voices of Impact – Roundtable Discussion

August 21, 2025

In late August, Executive Women In Bio (EWIB) convened an inspiring and solutions-focused event to harness our collective leadership voices to shape the future of Pittsburgh life sciences. The interactive roundtable discussions sparked insightful conversations around entrepreneurship, partnerships, and advocacy. Together, we surfaced key challenges and began crafting actionable solutions that will guide future EWIB programming in Pittsburgh and continue to meaningfully impact the regional ecosystem.

Key Takeaways from the Event:

  • Stronger Connections Through Community: Online communities for knowledge sharing to keep the momentum going — a place for like-minded leaders to collaborate, share, and support one another.
  • Centralized Resource Hub: Attendees expressed a clear need for a centralized repository of tools, services, and support organizations relevant to early-stage life sciences companies. A compelling idea emerged to host an event that brings together resource providers — accelerators, service organizations, funders, and more — to create visibility and simplify access for founders and teams. There's growing interest in building a shared list of investors and funding sources as well as shared startup infrastructure like common HR and administrative resources. We’ll explore pathways to help streamline these functions across the ecosystem.

Held at the Warhol Pop Up District North Shore, with spectacular views of downtown Pittsburgh, this event was just the beginning. Thank you to everyone who brought experience, energy, and ideas to the table. Your voice is certainly shaping the future of Life Sciences in the Pittsburgh ecosystem, and we’re excited about what’s next.

Stay connected. Stay engaged. Let’s build it together.
