On May 9, WIB-Los Angeles hosted Kamayani Gupta from KAMI Think Tank to discuss how AI is shaping the future of healthcare and life sciences. Kamayani shared valuable insights into how AI is being used in areas like drug discovery and improving patient outcomes, while shedding light on the challenges of managing data and moving to the cloud, especially in the pharmaceutical space. One important topic was the recent funding cuts in healthcare research, with a special focus on how this affects women's health. Kamayani highlighted the importance of using diverse data sources to ensure more inclusive and accurate healthcare solutions. Throughout the session, attendees were encouraged to get hands-on with AI tools, weigh the pros and cons of building tech solutions in-house versus outsourcing, and keep an eye on emerging trends across the industry.
