Stephanie Weber
Business Development Associate at Fulgent Genetics

In our ongoing series highlighting impactful members of Women In Bio Los Angeles, we’re excited to introduce Stephanie Weber. Stephanie volunteers with the Communications Committee, a dedicated group responsible for promoting WIB events, sharing community stories, and helping the organization reach a wider audience.

Stephanie Weber is a Business Development Associate at Fulgent Genetics, a contract research organization (CRO) specializing in certified lab services for cancer testing, research, and treatment development. Her role allows her to bridge innovative technologies with clients across the life sciences, a part of her job she finds deeply rewarding. "One of the most exciting things I get to do is bridge innovative technologies to various clientele across the life sciences space," she says, highlighting the unique position she has at the intersection of science and business.

Stephanie’s journey with Women in Bio began as a graduate student attending events as a non-member. Experiencing the strong WIB network firsthand inspired her to become an active participant, especially given the dispersed nature of Los Angeles’ biotech community. WIB provided a platform not only for meeting new people but also for fostering ongoing collaborations in a close-knit life sciences community. “Meeting people at events is one thing, but continuing to collaborate within a small community is truly valuable,” she shares.

A recent project that Stephanie is particularly proud of is her work on the marketing materials for our annual signature event, Leading in Los Angeles. This was her first major contribution to the Communications Committee, where she had creative freedom to help build awareness and boost engagement. The event’s success, with sold-out tickets and strong attendance, was a proud achievement that underscored her impact on the committee.

When asked for advice on getting involved in Women In Bio, Stephanie recommends joining a committee. “It keeps you informed about upcoming events, gives you insight into the effort that goes into each one, and allows you to connect with members you might not interact with regularly,” she explains. Her enthusiasm for WIB and dedication to life sciences make her an inspiring role model within the WIB community.

Stephanie Weber’s commitment to her work and to fostering collaboration in LA’s life sciences sector is a testament to the strength and impact of the Women In Bio network.
