On February 27, YWIB-Greater Montreal hosted 15 students at the University of Montréal's Optometry School to explore new interests and discover the diverse fields of optometry research. The event began with a discussion of women in research and the challenges they may face in their careers. Students then took part in a series of hands-on workshops, including psychophysics and ocular movements, visual impairment awareness and rehabilitation, 3D modeling and printing, and microscopy. Many of the high school students said they discovered areas they hadn’t known about before and enjoyed the variety of workshops led by the volunteers.
