YWIB-Connecticut & Junior Achievement of Southwest New England: Virtual Career Panel, April 26, 2024

WIB-Connecticut

On April 26, 2024, Young Women In Bio Connecticut and Junior Achievement of Southwest New England had a great discussion at a virtual panel held with various women science facilitators in different functions and specialties (marketing, communications, human resources, finance, administrative, health & safety) that support drug discovery and development companies. None of these ladies have a scientific background, but their organizations couldn't run without their support!

We discussed what a day in their job looks like, their educational background, how they got into their current roles, what skills are needed to fulfill their role, and why they are passionate about being close to drug discovery/development and the sciences. Everyone was very engaged and prepared for discussion.

There were accounts listening in from nine different schools across Connecticut (New Haven, Enfield, Waterbury, Naugatuck, Westbrook, and Madison—just to name a few). Many other schools will also receive the videos to show and share with their students! We look forward to more future events in our continued partnership with Junior Achievement.
