On August 14, 2024, we hosted our third annual Life Sciences Night at The Old Globe, bringing together professionals for a summer evening of networking, celebration, and theater. In collaboration with the local chapters of Athena, HBA, and WIB, we recognized the remarkable achievements of women in life sciences. The night's highlight was a captivating performance of Henry 6, Part 2: Riot and Reckoning.
Adena Varner, Director of Arts Engagement, shared insights on the community work surrounding The Old Globe’s world premiere adaptation of the play, directed by Barry Edelstein. This production marked a significant milestone, completing Shakespeare’s canon with The Old Globe's largest Shakespeare production to date. The performance underscored leadership challenges relevant both in Henry VI's era and today, offering a powerful message of how women are transforming these challenges with modern innovation.
A special thank you to our sponsors, Travere Therapeutics and CG Life, for their unwavering support and commitment to our mission at Women In Bio.
