The Philadelphia Metro Young Women In Bio (YWIB) team had an amazing time sponsoring a table at John Moffet Elementary School’s first-ever STEM Night on February 20th! The goal of the event was to introduce students and their families to STEM in a fun and engaging way. Attendees explored different activity stations, collecting stamps in their STEM Passports as they went along. YWIB even contributed a raffle prize, which one lucky student won after completing their passport! Six wonderful volunteers represented WIB at the event, helping students and families build spaghetti-and-marshmallow towers while teaching them about the science of stability and center of gravity. The students got super creative, adjusting their designs to strengthen their towers. Our volunteers had a blast interacting with everyone, and the school community truly appreciated our participation. It was a fantastic night of fun, learning, and hands-on STEM exploration!
