Excellence in Canadian Board Governance (ECBG) Application Process for the 2025 Cohort is now open!
Launched in 2022, the ECBG program offers an unparalleled professional development experience in Board Governance. Our mission is to accelerate the diversification of boardrooms by expanding leadership opportunities for women (C-suite executives, senior leaders, and founders) within Canada’s Life Science and Biotechnology sectors. The first two cohorts were trained by the esteemed McGill Executive Institute, further emphasizing our commitment to excellence.
For 2025, we are thrilled to announce our new partnership with the Rotman Executive Program, underscoring our dedication to diversifying our academic collaborators across Canada. The Rotman Executive Program delivers cutting-edge research from leading thinkers and practitioners, providing you with the insights, leadership skills, and transformative impact needed to drive positive change.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS
● Proven Success: Over fifty executive leaders from various life sciences sectors have graduated since the program's inception.
● Alumni Directory: Our graduates will soon be featured in a directory, showcasing their skills and availability for new board opportunities.
Our third session will take place from January to February 2025, with the recruitment period running from July to September 2024.
APPLICATION PROCESS
● Deadline: Submit the ECBG Application and your resume by 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 4, 2024. Late applications will not be accepted.
● Membership Requirement: Applicants must have a current (i.e., unexpired) WIB membership.
● Notification Date: The 2025 ECBG Candidates will be selected and notified by in October.
PROGRAM DETAILS
● Format: 4-day live virtual education sessions on Fridays (11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) from January to February 2025.
● Comprehensive Curriculum: Sessions will cover topics including Introduction and Board Effectiveness, The Role of the Board in Strategy, Legal Responsibilities, Risk Management, Board Performance, Board Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and ESG.
● Interactive Learning: The small cohort size fosters robust discussions, maintains strong connections, and promotes an elevated level of individual participation.
