WIB-San Francisco Bay Area: Aging, Neurodegeneration, & Cognitive Decline – Current Insights

August 21, 2024

The WIB-San Francisco Bay Area August panel event, Aging, Neurodegeneration, & Cognitive Decline – Current Insights and Future Directions, was both engaging and informative. We extend our sincere thanks to Calico Life Sciences for being such a gracious host and for making us feel so welcome. The event featured a discussion moderated by Dr. Madeleine Cule, with expert insights from Dr. Claire Clelland, Dr. Sarah Huntwork-Rodriguez, Dr. Catherine Marreiro, and Dr. Tina Schwabe. Their expertise gave attendees valuable knowledge on aging gracefully and supporting loved ones experiencing cognitive decline. The event explored the relationship between neurodegeneration and cognitive decline and their impact on aging. It highlighted how advancements in technology, such as spatial neuroimaging and genetic sequencing, offer new opportunities to understand the complexities of the aging brain. The panelists also emphasized the potential of lifestyle interventions, including diet, exercise, and cognitive stimulation, in promoting brain health and resilience.
