WIB-RTP: Winter Wonderland Holiday Social

Women In Bio RTP hosted a wonderful end-of-year holiday social on December 10, bringing together our members, leaders, sponsors, and local community for an evening of celebration. The event featured a festive Winter Wonderland theme and marked a meaningful close to an impactful year! Our Chapter Chair, Jessica Sorrentino Zimmerman, reflected on the chapter’s accomplishments throughout the year, thanked our generous sponsors, and recognized raffle winners during the evening. As part of the celebration, WIB-RTP hosted a clothing drive in support of North Carolina HBCUs and the North Carolina Central University Career Closet. Thanks to the generosity of our attendees, we received an overwhelming number of donations to support students as they prepare to enter the workforce. The WIB community’s commitment to giving back continues to make a meaningful difference.

We were also proud to support Designed For Joy at the event. Designed For Joy is a Raleigh, NC–based nonprofit that provides women in crisis with stability through immediate, living-wage employment and ongoing support. Attendees had the opportunity to shop for handcrafted jewelry, handbags, and home décor, directly supporting the organization’s mission. The evening was filled with meaningful connections, community engagement, and celebration, an uplifting way to close out the year for our chapter!
