On February 15, 2024, Young Women In Bio RTP was at N.C. State attending the inaugural regional event for high school girls in the Triangle who are high achieving in the STEM fields. The event was hosted by the Enterprising Women Foundation and the Institute of Consumer Money Management (ICMM) with support from the N.C. State Math Department's STEM Education Department Research Team. The attendees learned financial literacy training from ICMM and enjoyed a panel discussion with outstanding area women leaders in STEM. Many panelists are top women entrepreneurs in our community and leading STEM-based companies. The girls had an opportunity for small group mentoring as well.
For every $2,500 raised for this event, one student will be selected to receive a scholarship to travel to Orlando, Florida, April 7–8, along with her parent or guardian to attend the 22nd Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration & Conference and receive additional leadership training, mentoring from national and international women leaders, and an opportunity to meet and connect with other high achieving girls from across the U.S. and Canada.
