Women In Bio Greater Montreal hosted an event on April 21, 2026, focused on strategic foresight, a structured approach that uses “what if” scenarios to help organizations anticipate change and make more informed decisions. The example of electric vehicles brought this to life, showing how foresight requires looking at the full picture, from technology and infrastructure to environmental factors and shifting consumer mindsets. The session was led by Sylvia MacSpadyen, who noted that although strategic foresight is not yet widely adopted, it's a method that organizations can start using right away. She emphasized that discomfort and uncertainty are natural parts of exploring new ideas, and that staying grounded in evidence, accepting that not all answers are clear yet, and having the confidence to move forward are all part of the process.
