WIB-Greater Boston: Optimizing Your Job Search in the AI Era

April 10, 2025

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, WIB-Greater Boston hosted a virtual event as part of our ongoing AI series. This session explored how AI is being utilized in job searches. This event was well received, with more than 90 attendees. Kamayani Gupta introduced the panel and co-moderated it with Stephanie Oestreich. Our speakers included Dylan DeVore (Sector Head, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals at Real Staffing), Ava Gallagher (Manager of Recruitment at Scientific Search), Tara Kochis (Founder & CEO of CollectiveMinds), Kris Steen (Managing Partner at Stevenson Search Partners), Matt Vossler (Managing Director at Diversified Search Group).

Nowadays, recruiters use AI extensively in job processing, including creating scripts, identifying candidates, and eliminating biases. For candidates, AI can be utilized to find specific roles and create specific resumes and cover letters. AI can also help with interview preparation and negotiating compensation packages. The fear of AI taking away our jobs may be exaggerated since most jobs still need human factors, such as collaborative relationships, cultural connections, interpersonal skills, networking, etc. Panelists discussed tips and shared their thoughts on leveraging AI for successful job searches and interviews.
