WIB-Greater Boston: 10th Annual Lobster Pot Pitch Event

March 5, 2025

On March 5, Women In Bio Greater Boston Chapter hosted its signature event, the 10th Annual Lobster Pot Pitch Event, at MassBio. It was a truly inspiring night filled with enthusiasm and brilliant ideas! Five dynamic women life science entrepreneurs pitched their groundbreaking innovations to five accomplished women venture capitalists for their invaluable feedback. In this sold-out event, hundreds of attendees were connected and empowered. A heartfelt thank you to our esteemed VC panelists for volunteering their time and expertise: Lauren Mifflin (Frazier Life Sciences), Stella Paffenholz, PhD (Nextech Invest), Chaya Patel (Mission BioCapital), Mariola Szenk, PhD (BlueYard Capital), Aniqa Tasnim (5AM Ventures). We extend our gratitude to the remarkable courageous women entrepreneurs who presented their life-changing research and we wish you all continued success:

  • Laura Kelley (Aperture Bio): Aperture Bio captures disease state biosignatures used to develop personalized cancer therapies via transformative 3D biology platform.
  • Luba Perry, PhD (ReConstruct Bio): ReConstruct Bio's revolutionary BioImplant technology is set to transform reconstructive surgery and oncology care.
  • Shana Wang (PathCision Medicine): PathCision Medicine is developing first-in-mechanism antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) designed to cross tissue barriers and accumulate payload in invasive and metastatic cancers.
  • Joanna Xylas, PhD (Materialize Bio): Materialize Bio taps into the exceptional regenerative, antimicrobial and material properties of natural biopolymers as medical implants.
  • Avery (Qinghong) Yan, PhD (Riboway Therapeutics): Riboway Therapeutics is a biotech startup that leverages AI to decode RNA biology and develop RNA-targeted therapeutics that precisely control protein expression and function.

Lastly, we would like to express our appreciation to our event sponsors—Cooley LLP, Safety Partners, and Johnson & Johnson—for their generous support.
