WIB-Greater Boston: Becoming a Board Member – Tips on How to Be Ready for Board Service

On September 19, 2024, WIB-Greater Boston gathered at Blueprint Medicines in Cambridge, with over 90 attendees gathering to discuss the journey to becoming board-ready in the life sciences industry. It began with opening remarks from Christy Rossi, Chief Operating Officer at Blueprint, followed by Philina Lee, Chief Commercial Officer at Blueprint, who moderated the panel discussion. The panelists included Molly Harper, a board member at PreciseDx and Catalyst Pharmaceuticals, Nerissa Kreher, a board member at Rezolute Bio, and Helen Ho, Chief Business Officer at Blueprint Medicines, who also serves as a board observer at Idrx. The panel, which also highlighted the WIB Boardroom Ready Program, in which Philina Lee and Helen Ho participated, discussed the roles of board members, preparation for the position, and time commitments. The speakers emphasized the importance of aligning one's passion, expertise, and potential contributions when pursuing board roles. The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session that captured the audience’s attention.
