On May 28, Women In Bio RTP welcomed career strategist Heidi Scott Giusto for an evening focused on building resumes that stand out in today’s competitive life sciences job market. Heidi shared useful tips for creating resumes that clearly communicate impact, accomplishments, and career goals while remaining easy for recruiters and hiring managers to review.

Throughout the session, attendees learned how to strengthen resume readability and formatting, write concise, results-focused bullet points, and highlight measurable achievements. Heidi also discussed the importance of optimizing resumes for applicant tracking systems (ATS), developing a strong professional brand, and showcasing both technical expertise and leadership experience.

Beyond resume strategy, the conversation encouraged participants to think more intentionally about how they present their experiences, strengths, and career stories with confidence and authenticity. The interactive format gave attendees the opportunity to ask questions, receive personalized guidance, and walk away with practical tools to strengthen their professional materials and career positioning.

Women In Bio RTP extends its thanks to Heidi for sharing her expertise and to everyone who joined us for this valuable and empowering professional development event.
