WIB-RTP: 2nd Annual Networking With a View – The Leap from Science to Entrepreneurship

WIB-RTP hosted the 2nd Annual Networking With a View event at The Rooftop Bar in Wilmington to support our members and interested parties in the local area and extend the reach of WIB. We were joined by roughly 30 people, a mix of members and non-members. Our amazing speaker, Kimberly Lupo, the founder and CEO of Portrett Pharmaceuticals, gave an excellent talk about her journey from being a bench scientist to an entrepreneur. We learned that networking, putting yourself in uncomfortable situations, and being genuine about caring about client relationships are a couple of key steps for a successful entrepreneurial journey. There were drinks and food, and attendees had the opportunity to network and learn from each other. Finally, Kimberly suggested the following books for those planning a managerial or entrepreneurial career: Crucial Conversations, Extreme Ownership, and Expert to Entrepreneur. Thank you, Kimberly!
