WIB-RTP: Land Your Next Job – Level up Your Resume Writing & Salary Negotiation Skills With Heidi

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the WIB-RTP chapter hosted a signature resume-writing event with Heidi Giusto. It was a great event! Our Programs Chair, Raquel Martinez Chacin, introduced the event and presented an overview of WIB and the WIB-RTP chapter. From there, Heidi Giusto took the stage to start an amazing workshop focused on improving and developing resume writing and salary negotiation skills. We learned about the ideal resume structure and how a resume is only one part of an effective job campaign. Always ask yourself if your current resume will get you an interview. We also learned that in order to negotiate a salary effectively, regardless of the scenario, always be prepared by establishing a truthful salary range, understanding the salary expectations of your role of interest and the whole compensation package, and, last but not least, maintaining a positive attitude—salary negotiation is a conversation, not a confrontation!
