WIB-Greater Boston: Women Leadership in Biotech – Who’s in Your Village? May 22, 2024

On May 22, 2024, WIB-Greater Boston held a dynamic discussion with a panel of women to explore topics like career advancement, overcoming challenges, and breaking barriers in bioscience. About 45 women gathered at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP to network and play social bingo before sitting down to hear the diverse panel of accomplished women. 

Key takeaways from the panel include:

• Be okay with pivoting and following what makes sense now and divert from the vision of your life you had before.
• Get uncomfortable being uncomfortable.
• Try things, and if they don’t work, redirect.
• Women are good at getting the team to the end point of the big picture.
• Be okay with learning and failing. Don’t stay on a course that isn’t working for you.
• Career coaches are a great asset when deciding on a career change. They can help you focus on what you’re good at and what you like and steer you toward the best career.
• Watch what women you admire do and follow their actions.
• Men can be strong mentors for us, too. 
• Remember that you are not alone in your journey!
