WIB-Chicago

On August 25, attendees joined WIB-Chicago for a webinar featuring the FundingIP team and Mika Reiner Mayer from Cooley. The webinar gave attendees an opportunity to learn more about the grant program, meet the FundingIP team, and better understand the importance of life sciences patent protection. Mika introduced the topic of intellectual property, explained what it is, and highlighted the importance of protecting it—emphasizing that early IP protection is essential when developing an innovation. Mika and Dahlia Kravesky also discussed the FundingIP grant program, including the role of IP in the application process and what applicants should consider when developing their IP. Dahlia provided an overview of the four types of grants offered, walked attendees through the application timeline and requirements, and answered questions. The grant application will be open for the next year, and WIB members, attendees, and the community are welcome to apply here.
