MAPS-Chicago: Silencing Self-Doubt – How to Overcome Imposter Syndrome

July 30, 2025

On July 30, WIB-Chicago's MAPS Committee hosted its summer event featuring guest speaker Kathleen Wisemandle. Held in a hybrid format at Crowe’s Chicago office on W. Wacker Dr. and via Zoom, the event welcomed approximately 30–35 participants, including mentors, mentees, and EWIB members. The evening started with lively networking at 5:30 p.m., followed by Kathleen’s engaging presentation and Q&A. She explored how imposter syndrome is shaped by our experiences and the environments we navigate—especially when we’re the only or one of few—and shared practical strategies to quiet self-doubt and reclaim confidence in systems not always built with us in mind. Thanks to the generous support of sponsors Crowe, BD, and CBRE.
