This YWIB Career Panel gives students a chance to meet professionals working across different parts of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. From clinical development to regulatory affairs, panelists will share how their roles contribute to bringing new medicines and therapies to patients. Through personal stories and real-world insights, students will learn what these careers are really like, the different paths that can lead into the life sciences, and how they can begin exploring opportunities in the field.

Speaker Bios
Myriam is the Vice President of Quality Assurance at Vaxcyte, a Bay Area biotech company developing next-generation vaccines. She’s built her career across quality and process development roles at leading biotech and pharma companies and now helps ensure that innovative vaccines are developed safely and reliably.
Kahdoh Fang
Kahdoh is a Clinical Scientist at Alumis, a South San Francisco–based biotech company, where she supports clinical trials for lupus therapies. A trained pharmacist with extensive experience across a variety of healthcare and research settings, she also holds a Master of Science in Health Economics and Outcomes Research. In her role, Kahdoh represents the clinical science team in close collaboration with cross-functional internal teams and external partners, bringing a strong patient-first mindset and a deep commitment to achieving positive clinical outcomes.
Suniti is a Senior Regulatory Associate at Adicet Bio, a start-up biotech company in the South Bay. As part of a lean regulatory team, she works to support FDA and Ex-US submissions, helping ensure the CAR-T cell therapy Adicet is developing, progresses efficiently through clinical development.
Lena is Director and Global Regulatory Leader at Genentech, with 15 years of experience developing medicines across Oncology and Respiratory. Her expertise spans the full drug development lifecycle, from securing global health authority approvals to conducting due-diligence assessments for in-licensing opportunities. Lena is known for executing complex regulatory strategies, building strong teams, and mentoring talent. A San Francisco native, she holds a degree in biology from San Francisco State University.
Wafa QuliKhan, MD
Dr. QuliKhan serves as Associate Director of Clinical Operations at Kivu Bioscience. Wafa started her career as a medical doctor and now helps lead clinical trials that test new medicines for serious illnesses like cancer and rare diseases. She works with scientists and doctors around the world to help bring safe, life-changing treatments to patients faster.
Alexis is a clinical research professional and team leader at Stanford University with over 10 years of experience supporting clinical trials. She currently specializes in innovative digital health studies. Known for her collaborative leadership style, Alexis brings strong expertise across trial operations, regulatory compliance, and patient-centered research execution.
