Tala Fakhouri, PhD, MPH, Vice President of Consulting for AI & Digital Policy, Real-World Research at Parexel
Tala previously served as Associate Director for Data Science & AI Policy at FDA/CDER, where she led policy tracks for AI and real-world evidence (RWE), authored FDA’s first AI and RWE guidance documents, co-chaired the CDER AI Council, and helped shape global regulatory frameworks for AI, digital health technologies, and RWE, including ICH E6 A2. Before her time at the FDA, she held leadership roles at the CDC, including Chief Statistician for the agency’s flagship health study, NHANES, and was a member of the Federal Committee for Statistical Methodology. Dr. Fakhouri holds a PhD in oncological sciences from the University of Utah, an MPH in epidemiology & biostatistics from Johns Hopkins, a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard, and a BSc in medical technology from the Jordan University of Science and Technology.
