Our career panel features women from diverse industries, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, architecture, construction, and consulting. Hear their stories, explore their career paths, and discover how their work has contributed to bringing life-saving therapies to market.

Speaker Bios
Julie Barberio, VP of Client Solutions at Sequence Inc.
Julie is the Vice President of Client Solutions at Sequence Inc., a biopharma manufacturing consulting firm, where she oversees marketing and PR and the client engagement strategy. She has over 25 years of experience managing complex marketing initiatives involving strategic partnership development, brand engagement, new product launches, and media relations for large corporations, including Honeywell and McDonald’s USA. Her passion for giving back to the community hit a major milestone in 2012 when she was involved in the fundraising efforts that resulted in $7 million raised for the Ronald McDonald House of Durham expansion from 29 to 55 rooms, nearly doubling the capacity to support families in need. She is currently involved in ISPE CaSA, serving as the Secretary on the executive board for 2024/25, and is the past Women in Pharma chair.
Jessica Cochran, Co-Managing Partner and Process Architect at JacobsWyper
As one of the managing partners in the firm, Jessica leads the day-to-day operations of our Raleigh office and guides the business's overall strategic direction. With 15 years of technical experience working on projects of varying scales and typologies, she has a significant portfolio of complex, large-scale designs across the Carolinas, including sustainability-driven projects, higher education, and civic buildings. Her focus is on the Life Sciences, with expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing and all phases of drug product delivery. Driven by the process of client engagement, Jessica is deeply invested in collaborating with her clients to deliver successful outcomes. She believes that the audacity of scale inherent in laboratory and pharmaceutical work provides challenges and opportunities to unite the entire project team around a shared goal. With an academic background in fine art, Jessica has always been fascinated by creating, making, and building and was drawn to architecture for its blend of analytical thinking and creativity. When not leading the next biotech or pharma project, Jessica makes time for other creative pursuits, including painting, ceramics, charcoal, and mixed media.
Bo Crouse-Feuerhelm, Vice President of Client Solutions at JE Dunn Construction Company
Throughout her more than 25-year career, Bo has progressed from a college dropout to holding roles as secretary, marketing assistant, marketing coordinator, marketing manager and director, global accounts executive, and ultimately, Vice President for consulting, design, and construction companies. Her success stems from a steadfast commitment to understanding business dynamics and earning the trust and respect of her clients, partners, and colleagues. In her current role as Vice President with JE Dunn Construction Company, Bo is responsible for analyzing long-term market trends and innovation drivers across the Life Sciences and Healthcare sectors, as well as developing new construction opportunities and executing strategies to serve clients effectively and efficiently. Bo is a resolute mentor, enthusiastic volunteer, and experienced speaker. She has been an active member of Women In Bio for five years. Additionally, she is actively involved with the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) and Women in Pharma. Her contributions were recognized in March 2019 when she received the ISPE-CaSA Award for Dedicated Service. Beyond her professional achievements, Bo is engaged in various community and industry organizations. She serves as Membership Co-Chair for the Association of Medical Facility Professionals (AMFP) and has held leadership roles such as Immediate Past Chair and former Secretary of The Women’s Center of Wake County Board of Directors. Bo is also a member and Past Chair of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Triangle’s Red Shoe Crew.
Tracy Schorner, Executive Director, Plant Manager at Amgen North Carolina
Tracy is currently the plant manager of a new drug substance facility starting in Holly Springs, North Carolina. This plant is being built to launch Amgen’s innovative new “FleX Batch” process platform and aspires to be the most digitally advanced and sustainable plant in their network. Tracy began her career at Amgen in Rhode Island in 2003 as a Manufacturing Operator and held various roles across Drug Substance Manufacturing and Engineering in Rhode Island and California as she grew her skills and responsibilities. In her current role, she is responsible for ensuring the operational readiness of the plant for production in 2025, which includes hiring a highly skilled team of dedicated and diverse talent. Tracy holds a BS in chemical engineering from Lafayette College. She is a subject matter expert in new product introduction, technology transfer, and operational excellence. She is passionate about continuous improvement and mentoring.
