WIB-Philadelphia Metro: Unmute Yourself – Claim the Confidence & Authority You've Already Earned
Women in biopharma and life sciences are behind some of the most consequential scientific advances of our generation, and, still, too many are editing themselves in the rooms where it matters most. Not because they lack expertise. Because they were never taught that their voice is part of the science. Unmute Yourself is a one-hour confidence activation lab. It's a structured experience designed to surface the authority women in bio have already built and make it impossible to leave behind when the meeting starts, the negotiation opens, or the room goes quiet waiting for someone to speak first. Participants will leave not just with tools but with a felt sense of their own power that they can return to again and again. Participants will leave with:

Joanna Ghayad, PharmD, PCC, Leadership and Business Coach for Scientists
Joanna knows what it feels like to be the scientist in the room whose voice gets overlooked — and she built her entire practice to make sure that never happens to the next generation. A PharmD, ICF-certified Leadership and Business Coach, and Forbes Coaches Council member, Joanna brings 15+ years of experience across healthcare, biotech, and pharma to her work. Her career spans drug discovery through late-stage development and lifecycle management, including building strategic partnerships and leading cross-functional research portfolios at Bristol Myers Squibb, where she also created an award-nominated leadership development program for scientists. Today, Joanna leads the (r)Evolutionary STEMist™ movement — a coaching practice dedicated to helping scientists and clinicians develop the leadership and business skills that turn deep scientific expertise into real-world impact. Her work is particularly focused on closing the leadership development gap for scientists from marginalized communities, whose perspectives are often underrepresented in the rooms where decisions are made. Joanna believes that the future of science depends not just on brilliant minds but on leaders with the confidence, influence, and vision to drive meaningful change for patients and the world.
