WIB-Philadelphia Metro: From Skeptic to Sidekick – Making AI Work for Your Science
AI can feel like hype, a threat, or just one more thing to learn, so join us to find out how it can become a practical partner in the work you already do. This friendly, hands-on session explores how scientists, researchers, and life science professionals can put AI to work in their everyday lives. No AI experience or technical background is needed—just bring your curiosity, your questions, and your phone! Light appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided, with plenty of time for networking and conversation.

Speaker Bio
Hillary Curran, Head of Customer Innovation & AI Enablement at Guru
Hillary leads customer innovation and AI enablement at Guru, an AI-powered knowledge platform, where she has spent 9+ years building the post-sales organization and guiding thousands of customers through the shift to working with AI. She runs Guru's Innovation Partner Program, co-authored The Knowledge Accuracy Gap with CEO Rick Nucci, and is currently researching the impact of agentic AI on the enterprise with the Linux Foundation. A Penn State Schreyer Honors College graduate with a BS in biobehavioral health and an MS in public service management from DePaul University, she's extremely passionate about demystifying AI for people in science and research. Hillary lives in Fairmount with her husband and two children.
