In this interactive session, middle and high school students will explore how STEM skills like biology, chemistry, technology, and data analysis are used in real crime scene investigations and forensic science. Students will analyze a mock crime scene, learn about different forensic career pathways, and learn how to start building those skills today.

Speaker Bio
Lynne Dougherty, Unit Commander of the Special Victims Unit at the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office
Lt. Lynne Dougherty is the Unit Commander of the Special Victims Unit, ICAC, and Forensic Nurse Examiner programs at the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. She oversees investigations into adult and child sexual assaults, child abuse, trafficking, and elder abuse—managing over 100 cases annually. Lt. Dougherty supervises multidisciplinary teams, coordinates with prosecutors and agencies, and provides oversight of specially trained investigators. Her forensic career includes work in homicide, narcotics, internal affairs, and juvenile justice, offering a comprehensive approach to crimes against women and children.
