Our May book selection is Genentech: The Beginnings of Biotech by Sally Smith Hughes.
This session will explore the founding of Genentech and the birth of the modern biotechnology industry. Through the lens of early scientific breakthroughs, entrepreneurial risk-taking, and company building, we’ll discuss how academic science was translated into commercial impact—and how those early decisions continue to shape today’s biotech ecosystem.
