The WIB-Chicago 2025 Mentoring Circles Program kicks off with a warm welcome from the MAPS Committee, followed by an inspiring presentation from program founder Laurie Wessels. Mentors and mentees will then break into their circles to meet and connect.

Laurie Wessels, President of Wessels Group
Founder of the Women In Bio Chicago MAPS program. President of Wessels Group, Inc. Laurie Wessels is a seasoned Senior Executive and Consultant with more than 30 years of success in the pharmaceutical, engineering, higher education, and executive coaching industries. Leveraging extensive experience with highly lucrative product launches and marketing in the pharmaceutical industry as well as in the design of coaching and training programs for an array of Fortune 500 companies, she is a valuable asset for companies in the life sciences sector seeking expert advisory in the areas of change management, relationship building, strategic decisions, and leader development. Her broad areas of expertise include leadership development, executive coaching, change management, strategic planning, organizational development, program management, team building, sales, marketing, and instructional design. Throughout her career, Ms. Wessels has held leadership positions at organizations including Wessels Group Inc., Pfizer, and Parke-Davis. As President of the Wessels Group since 2000, she leads services in executive development and strategic management. She has also been on the faculty of the Global Institute for Leadership Development since 2007, Lake Forest Graduate School of Management since 2003, and Northwestern University since 2014. She previously had a 15-year career in the pharmaceutical industry as a Senior Marketing Manager with Parke-Davis Pharmaceuticals. She has been responsible for creating product strategies and tactics resulting in more than $3 billion in sales and was instrumental in the launch of the highly successful cholesterol drug Lipitor.
