WIB-Greater Boston: Breaking Barriers – Diversity and Innovation in Breast Cancer Research
Join us for a discussion focused on equity and diversity in breast cancer research and clinical trials, highlighting the groundbreaking innovation and progress shaping the future of care. In partnership with the Ellie Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals affected by breast cancer, we'll examine inclusive research practices, emerging treatments, and the importance of representation in clinical development. Help us raise breast cancer awareness during "PINKtober."

Speaker Bios
Georgia Dangel, MSN, ANP-BC, Medical Science Liaison
Georgia is a highly accomplished Medical Science Liaison with over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical and healthcare industry. She holds an MSN & BSN from Northeastern University and previously practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in the Breast Oncology Division at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. In her current role as an MSL, Georgia serves as a key scientific resource, providing critical insights and support to healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders. She excels in building strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), facilitating scientific discussions, and delivering data-driven presentations on complex therapeutic areas. Georgia’s commitment to continuous learning and passion for science drive her to stay updated with the latest advancements in medical research. She is dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes by bridging the gap between scientific innovation and clinical practice, partnering with patient advocacy groups, and leading initiatives to help advance inclusive research. Outside of work, Georgia enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, exploring the outdoors, and volunteering for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Luba Perry, PhD, Co-Founder and CEO of ReConstruct Bio
Luba is a Senior Scientist at the Wyss Institute at Harvard and the Co-Founder and CEO of ReConstruct Bio, a Harvard spinout developing bioengineered tissue implants for post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. She has more than 15 years of experience in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine and has led programs advancing breakthrough science from the lab toward clinical applications. She is dedicated to transforming women’s health with long-overdue innovations.
