Speaker Bios

Katherine Andersen, Head of U.S. Life Science & Healthcare at HSBC Innovation Banking, Moderator

Katherine brings over two decades of experience in finance and innovation to her role as Head of U.S. Life Science & Healthcare at HSBC Innovation Banking, which she joined in 2023 to help launch HSBC’s global platform serving the innovation economy. Previously, she led Life Science & Healthcare at SVB from 2015 to 2023, following leadership roles at Wells Fargo, Merrill Lynch, and GE Capital. With deep expertise across banking and capital markets, Katherine supports high-growth companies from Series A onward with tailored financial solutions. She holds degrees in Economics and Finance from Virginia Tech and has completed executive programs at Dartmouth, Harvard Law School, and GE. Based in Boston since 2006, Katherine is also an active community leader. She serves on the American Cancer Society’s CEOs Against Cancer team and the Board of Advisors for Life Science Cares.

Julie Feder, CFO at Obsidian Therapeutics

Julie is Obsidian’s Chief Financial Officer, a role in which she drives the financial and corporate growth of the Company. Ms. Feder has served in strategic financial roles in various life sciences companies. Most recently, she served as Chief Financial Officer of Aura Biosciences for six years. At Aura, she was responsible for various financial objectives and overall operations of the company. Before Aura, Ms. Feder was Chief Financial Officer at Verastem, where she developed the strategic financial plan and oversaw the rapid growth and financing of the company. Prior to joining Verastem, Ms. Feder spent six years at the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) as Chief Financial Officer. At CHAI, Ms. Feder was responsible for managing a global team across multiple departments. She also developed the global finance strategy and internal audit, treasury, and global payroll functions. Previously, Ms. Feder practiced as a CPA for over 20 years. Ms. Feder holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Yeshiva University’s Sy Syms School of Business.

Kelly Gold, Chief Financial Officer at CAMP4 Therapeutics

Kelly is the Chief Financial Officer at CAMP4 Therapeutics. She is responsible for guiding and executing the company’s strategy for establishing innovative strategic and technology-based partnerships that allow CAMP4 to realize the full value of the regRNA targeting approach. In addition, she leads all corporate finance and accounting, investor relations, and strategic financial planning activities at CAMP4. Kelly joined CAMP4 in 2017 and has held roles of increasing responsibility leading the Business Development and Finance functions, most recently as Chief Business Officer and SVP, Finance. Prior to joining CAMP4, she held various roles in corporate finance and business planning at Biogen, where she provided financial leadership for the company’s late-stage and marketed rare disease programs and developed long-term strategic financial trajectories for the R&D organization. Prior to Biogen, she worked in the Healthcare and Latin American Investment Banking groups at Deutsche Bank. She began her career as a mechanical engineer designing biocontainment systems for Biosafety Level 4 research facilities. She holds bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and mechanical engineering from Queen’s University in Ontario, as well as an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Abbas Kazimi, Chief Business Officer at Nimbus Therapeutics

Abbas is Chief Executive Officer of Nimbus Therapeutics and a member of its Board of Directors. Since joining Nimbus in 2014, he has helped shape the company’s evolution into a leading computational drug discovery and development organization, advancing multiple programs into the clinic across oncology, immunology, and metabolic disease. Before becoming CEO, Mr. Kazimi served as Nimbus’s Chief Business Officer, leading corporate strategy, business development, financing, and business operations. During his tenure, Nimbus has advanced four medicines into the clinic, expanded its capabilities across computational drug discovery and clinical development, and generated more than $4 billion in returns for investors. Mr. Kazimi also serves on the Boards of Directors of LAPIX Therapeutics and Unnatural Products and on the Editorial Advisory Board of In Vivo. Together with his family, he established the Kazimi Family Endowment for Data Science in Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center to support data-driven innovation in cancer research and treatment. Mr. Kazimi holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MS from Harvard University.

Aimee Raleigh, Principal at Atlas Venture

Aimee is a principal at Atlas Venture, where she works alongside stellar entrepreneurs to build companies focused on innovative therapies and exciting new biology. Aimee serves as a board director at Travin Bio and several stealth newcos. She is a board observer at Triveni Bio, Vima Therapeutics, and Remix Therapeutics. She was previously an observer at Kailera Therapeutics (NASDAQ: KLRA), Aiolos Bio (acquired by GSK), and Versanis Bio (acquired by Eli Lilly). Prior to joining Atlas, Aimee was a life sciences consultant at L.E.K. Consulting. At L.E.K., she worked with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients on strategy for early-stage therapies, including asset diligence, pipeline and indication prioritization, and commercial planning. Aimee received her PhD in bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego, where she was mentored by Dr. Robert Sah and Dr. Gary Firestein. Her doctoral work focused on modeling biophysical mechanisms of disrupted synovial joint lubricant homeostasis in post-traumatic osteoarthritis. Aimee received her BSE in biomedical engineering from Duke University, where she researched cell migration in response to chemokine gradients. Aimee now serves on the Duke Boston board.
