EWIB-Greater Boston: End-of-Year Networking Gala
- invitation-only -
The Executive Women In Bio (EWIB) Greater Boston Committee invites members and their executive colleagues to come together for an evening of great food, live violin music, and meaningful networking. Join us as we wrap up the year with a celebration of success, growth, and connection across Boston’s vibrant biotech community! Over the past year, many of our city’s executive leaders have reached new milestones—supported, coached, and championed by one another along the way. We’re also looking ahead to 2026 and hope to welcome new leaders to our growing community!
Violinist Bio
Amy Ripka
Amy is a former CEO of Lucy Therapeutics, a Boston-based, mitochondrial platform biotech revolutionizing treatments for neurological diseases.. Amy began playing the violin at age 6, when her parents joined an itinerant bluegrass band. After playing with such banjo greats as Ben Eldridge from The Seldom Scene, she switched to more classical pursuits. Her subsequent teachers included Blair Milton from the Chicago Symphony, Margaret Pardee from Juilliard, and Charlie Castleman from the Eastman School of Music. Having obtained a degree in violin performance from Northwestern University, Amy took a slight detour to earn her PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Upon recovery from this indiscretion, she has returned to the violin and performs with a variety of orchestras in the area, including Symphony NH, Plymouth Symphony, Portland Ballet, Opera Maine, as well as at Providence Performing Arts Center. Amy has an active chamber music life, playing in summer festivals in New Hampshire and Vermont, and has performed with celebrities such as Yo-Yo Ma, Peter Gabriel, Sarah McLachlan, and Smokey Robinson.
Prior to her role at LucyTx, she served on the executive leadership teams at SAI Life Sciences and WuXiAppTec. Dr. Ripka previously held positions of scientific leadership at EnVivo(FORUM), Daiamed, and Infinity Pharmaceuticals. She worked in the lab of Nobel Laureate K. Barry Sharpless. She has over 30 issued patents and has participated in 6 INDs in different therapeutic areas. She has been a leader in the medicinal chemistry community as Chair of the 2012 Medicinal Chemistry Gordon Research Conference, Industrial Councilor for the ACS MEDI Executive Committee, and a SAB member for the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation, Caraway Therapeutics, and Q-Biomed.
