Speaker Bios
Mie Field, Financial Advisor at Valent Wealth and WIB-Seattle Sponsorship Committee Chair, Moderator
Mie joined WIB-Seattle in February 2022 as a volunteer with the Sponsorship Committee. Since then, she's served as the Committee's Vice Chair and just started as the Chair in 2024. Mie has a bachelor's in biology and continued a career as a research assistant at Tufts Medical Center after college. After two years in the lab, Mie and her husband decided to move to Paraguay, where his parents live. She spent nine years in Paraguay and one year in the US as a stay-at-home parent. While looking to rejoin the workforce in the life science field, she had the opportunity to learn about financial services where she discovered a love for helping people with their finances and hasn’t looked back since. Being involved in WIB-Seattle allows her to support women in life science to thrive and continue in the field.
Kristin Niedermeyer, CHFC®, RICP®, Financial Advisor at Valent Wealth
Kristin empowers her clients to be proactive in building a strong financial foundation to ensure a lasting, good life for the people they care about most. Many of her clients are good savers, however they are burdened by high taxes, the rising cost of living, and many other financial threats. Pulling from her 16+ years collaborating with clients, Kristin offers leadership and financial education that helps restore financial balance and focus on reducing threats that drain wealth. When she's not working, you will find her chasing powder on skis in the winter, and when the sun comes out, you will be sure to find her hauling a blow-up paddle board to explore a new lake. Kristin loves to cook, and friends and family get to be test subjects of new concoctions. Thankfully, they often supply fresh ingredients from their gardens. Kristin believes in lifelong learning and spends much of her free time reading, taking classes, and working on being her best self for her community and clients.
