Speaker Bios
Kajal Choudhary, Associate Director of Strategy, Business Development, Women's Reproductive Health at Takara Bio
Kajal is a strategic leader in clinical research and commercial strategy for diagnostic products in women's health. With prior experience as a commercial lead for medical devices in women’s health and eye care, she has successfully driven advancements in IVF diagnostics, launching RUO and CE-IVD products globally. She holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and a PhD from the University of Manitoba. Currently, she leads a team of Strategy Managers, fostering collaboration across R&D, Product Management, Marketing, and Finance to achieve strategic objectives.
Carrie Haverty, Vice President of Product at Mirvie
Carrie is VP of Product at Mirvie, leading efforts to develop the Mirvie RNA platform, which uses a simple blood test to reveal vital information about a pregnancy’s unique biology and detect complications months before they occur. Carrie is a board-certified genetic counselor, earning her master's from the University of California Irvine. She started her career working in high-risk prenatal care and focused on providing broad access to new diagnostic technologies, including noninvasive prenatal screening. Her direct clinical experience was the foundation for leading-edge product development and commercialization at Counsyl, Myriad, Miroculus, and Mirvie.
Vivienne Souter, Medical Director of Women’s Health at Natera, Moderator
Vivienne is the Medical Director of Women’s Health at Natera. She has a medical degree, a postgraduate research degree, and a master's in public health, all from the University of Glasgow in the UK. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the UK and is board-certified in OB/GYN and Genetics in the US. Her research interests include genetics and women’s healthcare, quality improvement in pregnancy care, and predictive modeling and machine learning. Vivienne is based in Seattle, WA.
Morgan Stanton, CEO of Opal Therapeutics
Morgan is the CEO of Opal Therapeutics, a biotechnology company that is developing novel therapeutics for women's reproductive health. With a PhD in chemistry and over 15 years of experience in emerging biotech fields, she has a strong background in drug discovery, R&D, and bioengineering. She has previously built two start-up labs from the ground up and managed and directed multiple research teams to execute our scientific goals. Her work has been multidisciplinary, combining cell biology, machine learning, and engineering for state-of-the-art projects.
