Information Session
WIB-San Francisco Bay Area's Mentorship, Advisors, Peers, and Sponsorship (MAPS) Committee is hosting a virtual event to share information on the different mentoring opportunities offered at our chapter. Join us to learn more about peer-based and 1:1 mentoring to foster career growth and development. This event is open to both existing and potential mentees and mentors who are interested in participating in our upcoming cycle.

Speaker Bios
Ramya Ankala, Research Scientist at Gilead Sciences
Ramya is a Scientist working on utilizing diverse gene editing tools to generate engineered cells used for either cell therapies or production of biologics. Her previous roles focused on ex-vivo and in-vivo cell engineering, and she has experience with AAV and Lentiviral-based gene therapies for both rare diseases and blood disorders. While pursuing her master's, she was involved in identifying potential epigenetic drivers for lung adenocarcinoma. She is excited to be part of research that is focusing on gene and cell-based precision medicines.
Anna Chen, PhD, Strategic Planning at Abbott
Anna Chen is passionate about working at the intersection of biomedical innovation and commercial execution. She is currently an Associate Director of Strategic Planning at Abbott. In her previous roles, Anna was a management consultant at McKinsey and a New Product lead at Guardant Health. Anna earned her PhD from the University of Chicago in molecular metabolism. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking through the redwoods and playing with her adorable cat, Darling.
