MAPS-Pittsburgh: Mentoring Circles Program Wrap-Up & Career Spotlight – Cracking the Biotech Code
Over the past six months, our Mentoring Circles Program has brought together small, thoughtfully matched groups of mentors and mentees across career stages—from students to seasoned professionals in academia and industry. Participants committed just one hour per month to engage in meaningful conversations around professional growth, navigating transitions, balancing work and life, and promoting women in science and business.
We’ll kick off the evening with a celebration of the program and a mini mentor panel, where mentors will share reflections on how mentorship has influenced their career journeys. It’s a great opportunity to hear real stories, build community, and recognize the collective growth made over the past six months. Certificates of participation will also be presented to both mentees and mentors in recognition of their commitment and contributions.
To wrap up this impactful cycle, we’re thrilled to host a special talk by Kerry Boehner, a leading biotech recruiter with deep industry insight. In her talk, Cracking the Biotech Code: Mindset, Methods, and Moves to Land Your Dream Job, Kerry will discuss powerful strategies to stand out in the biotech job market. We'll focus on four key elements: clarifying your unique value to employers, building authentic professional relationships, preparing thoroughly through research and practice, and taking consistent, adaptable action with the employer's needs in mind. Today isn't just about finding a job—it's about creating meaningful career opportunities and showcasing how your specific talents solve real problems in biotech.
Whether you're a MAPS participant or not, if you're interested in the event, you're more than welcome to join us! This is a great opportunity to connect, reflect, and take your next steps in the life sciences with confidence and community.
