Women are the backbone of healthcare, yet their contributions often go unrecognized. As the healthcare industry evolves, women leaders will remain vital in transforming patient care, advancing medical research, and driving innovation.
Please join us for this event featuring four inspiring women healthcare professionals—a nurse, a physician assistant, a medical researcher, and a physician—who will share their unique perspectives and compelling journeys in the field.

Cavan Farley, Founder and President of Brightspan Consulting Group, Moderator
Cavan is the Founder and President of Brightspan Consulting Group, a life sciences consulting practice specializing in biopharma commercialization and market access strategies. Cavan has spent more than 20 years in commercial and market access leadership roles across both global, research-based pharmaceutical companies and start-up biotech organizations. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and traveling to warm destinations.
Gigi Gillit, RN
Gigi has been a nurse for 21 years. She spent 18 years in orthopedics before moving to urology for the last three years. She attended Bergen Community College for nursing school. Her favorite joy in nursing is seeing a patient who has recovered from surgery and sharing their gratitude that Gigi helped them in their journey. Gigi feels that no one is too busy to take the time to say "Please," "Thank You," and "Amen."
Katherine Kim, MD, PGY1 urology resident at Hackensack University Medical Center
Dr. Kim received her MD degree at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. She attended Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences with a master's degree in biomedical science. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering.
Ruth Sanchez De La Rosa, MHA, Clinical Research Coordinator at John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center
Ruth has been conducting Oncology Clinical Research for four years. She received her master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Arizona and her bachelor's in biology from the College of New Jersey. Ruth is passionate about sharing information about careers in STEM with students who are currently attending high schools like the one she graduated from. She enjoys reading, baking, dancing, and traveling.
Suzie Sorin, Physician Assistant Certified at Hackensack University Medical Center
Suzie has been a Physician Assistant in urology & robotic surgery for the last six years. Prior to her current role, she specialized in robotic surgery involving general surgery, GYN, ENT, thoracic, and urology. She also practiced in neurosurgery and general surgery. Suzie attended Rutgers University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science & Sport Studies with a minor in Spanish. She earned her master's degree in physician assistant studies from Seton Hall. Suzie enjoys traveling, eating, eating while traveling, snowboarding, and pickleball.
