Women In Bio invites you to our holiday celebration, an evening to reflect on the achievements of 2024, including the launch of our Los Angeles chapter. The evening will feature live music from a talented guitarist and female vocalist, festive cheer, and meaningful connections with fellow WIB members. We are also excited to welcome our invited speaker, Gina Ford, WIB's Executive Director, and keynote speaker, Gul Dusi from JLL, who will share their insights and inspiration as we celebrate together.

Whether you’ve been part of our journey for years or are new to the community, this event is a wonderful way to honor our accomplishments and look ahead to an exciting year to come. Speaker Bios

Gul Dusi, MBA, Managing Director at JLL

Gul Dusi is the West Region Development Lead for the JLL Project and Development Services group. She has over 24 years of experience managing the design and construction of new builds and renovation projects for various sectors, including healthcare, science and technology, and hospitality. Gul leads the West Development team and provides expertise in life sciences, capital projects, and the expansion of new markets and services for her project teams and clients. Before JLL, Gul worked as a director for Linesight, focusing on expanding their national life sciences portfolio and establishing branding for their construction consultancy services for various sectors. Before her time at Linesight, Gul worked for Edwards Lifesciences, where she was the Head of Design and Construction Management for Manufacturing. Gul gained vast experience that built a foundation for her life sciences expertise. One of the many projects she led was the $160M, 200,000 SF construction of multiple Edwards ISO 7-ISO 8 Ireland Greenfield Manufacturing facilities. Additionally, she led the $235M Irvine, CA campus expansion, consisting of construction oversight of the lab, general programming with input from the end-users, and selection of construction firms.

Gina Ford, DPh, MBA, Executive Director of Women In Bio

Gina is a highly experienced professional with 20 years of expertise in the life science, biotech, and pharmaceutical industries. Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles in corporate strategy, commercial, portfolio management, business development, and patient advocacy. As the principal of One Joule, LLC, a corporate strategy consulting firm she founded, Gina provides strategic advice to life science clients on various aspects of their business, including company formation, corporate strategy, fundraising, dealmaking, and US commercial and globalization strategies. In her recent Executive and C-suite roles at OncoSynergy, NephroSant, and Crinetics Pharmaceuticals, Gina was responsible for corporate strategy, corporate development, and commercial planning, where she helped drive growth and development for these companies. Gina is a Doctor of Pharmacy with an MBA. She is an accomplished start-up and growth phase expert, sought after for her successful fundraising experience at all levels. Early in her career, Gina was the executive director of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists. Her long-term focus on patient advocacy highlights her commitment to the life science industry’s core mission of improving patient outcomes through innovative therapies and treatments. Gina’s previous industry leadership roles include AcelRx Pharmaceuticals, Ipsen Pharmaceuticals, Solstice Neurosciences, and Elan Pharmaceuticals.
